I am the White Rabbit.
I thought once I was Alice
Curious and full of wonderment
Treading lightly in stocking feet
Overly observant of door mice, tea parties, and hatters
Blissfully naive -
The world, my wonderland.
then,
the rabbit hole
wormholed.
And it seemed I traded in my mary janes
for rabbit feet.
No time for stargazing or lollygagging
Now there's just no time.
No time! No time!
Pocket-watches be damned
even Grandfather clocks mock my meager attempts
digital tumblings towards temporary tomorrows
digits daring, glaring
daunting, taunting
teasing us all
daydreamers and poets
to wake up!
