(14/30 – 30 Poems in 30 Days – April National Poetry Month)
[Prompt: Days of the Week]
Monday his carriage drew near
illuminated by the gas lamp light
a blanket of snow providing
a veil of silence that night.
Tuesday he opened the door
determined to see if she was alright
never knowing whether or not she
was the type to wait or take flight.
Wednesday found his horse lame
Thursday work from father
Friday found the day astray
Saturday was with the cobbler.
Sunday shone a-new
With melted snow and horse hitched right
To her door wanting nothing more
than a future together so bright.
