You found me.
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, you have stumbled across my page. Wherever this day finds you on your journey, welcome. May my words bring you some amusement.
All of my writings here have been published or are in process of being published. If you are interested in using one of my pieces for your publication or some other event, please contact me. I would be happy to work with you. That being said, all I ask is that you give credit where credit is due. If you use something that is mine, reference me. You have my gratitude on this.
Who am I?
Well, that question is entirely more complicated, isn’t it? I am a poet, obviously. I started writing in the 5th grade, age 12, in Ms. Race’s English class. I wrote something out and it felt good. Powerful. And so much easier than writing a full story. Or so I thought. I went through the phases of writing like Dr. Seuss, imitating Poe at his finest, reading Frost and Sandberg – essentially learning all of the rules of poetry before finally, actively, breaking them all and creating a style of my own.
I am also a philosopher (yes, really). I hold a M.A. degree in Philosophy and I currently teach college level Humanities classes where I get to influence and remold adult minds every day by exposing them to the wide world of the arts – poetry included. I also teach Bioethics and have a related degree for that.. but alas that’s a story for another time.
After some search engine research, I’ve discovered that the name “Sincerely, Lori” is in use by many others for such things as twitter, tumblr, pintrest, facebook, – you name it, it’s probably out there and it’s NOT ME! I have two related accounts so far and am in process of creating others – all of which will be shared soon.
